อย่างไรก็ตาม เมื่อพิจารณาข้อมูลปริมาณยานพาหนะจดทะเบียนในเขตพื้นที่กรุงเทพมหานครและปริมณฑล พบว่าในปี พ.ศ. 2558 มียานพาหนะจดทะเบียนสูงถึง 9,884,390 คัน มีอัตราการขยายตัวระหว่างปี พ.ศ. 2554-2558 เฉลี่ยร้อยละ 6.80 ต่อปี โดยจำนวนยานพาหนะจดทะเบียนของจังหวัดนนทบุรีคิดเป็นร้อยละ 1.83 ของยานพาหนะจดทะเบียนในกรุงเทพมหานครและปริมณฑล ดังตารางที่ 3.1-10 โดยสัดส่วนของประเภทยานพาหนะจดทะเบียนสูงสุด คือ รถยนต์นั่งส่วนบุคคลไม่เกิน 7 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 39.79 รองลงมา คือ รถจักรยานยนต์ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 38.12 ของยานพาหนะจดทะเบียนของกรุงเทพมหานครและปริมณฑล
