โครงการพัฒนาวงแหวนรอบนอก กทม. ด้านตะวันตก เป็นการปรับปรุงถนนวงแหวนรอบนอกด้านตะวันตกให้เป็นระบบทางหลวงพิเศษแบบสมบูรณ์ โดยเชื่อมต่อกับ ถนนวงแหวนรอบนอกด้านตะวันออกและด้านใต้ครบทั้งวงแหวน
รูปแบบในเบื้องต้นของโครงการแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ช่วง คือ
q ช่วงบางขุนเทียน-บางบัวทอง จะเป็นทางยกระดับขนาด 6 ช่องจราจร
